Commodore Viola Quartet
About the Ensemble
The Commodore Viola Quartet, based at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music, brings together violist Professor Eric Wong and an international roster of elite Vanderbilt viola students for performances that combine polish, dynamic interplay, and a distinctive ensemble sound. Blending fresh arrangements of beloved classics with thoughtfully chosen, underrepresented gems from the viola repertoire, the Quartet offers programs that are both immediately engaging and artistically substantive, ideal for audiences seeking something familiar yet newly discovered. This roster has been featured at the American Viola Festival, Music and More Summer Fest (with performances across Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Montenegro), and at Vanderbilt University, earning a reputation for dynamic musicianship and compelling, well-crafted concerts.
